Ассоциация экспортеров, импортеров и торговцев фруктами и овощами Пакистана установила планку экспорта манго в 2014 году на уровне 175 000 тонн в надежде получить выручку равную $65 млн. With rates of potatoes sticking to Rs60 per kg in open market despite several measures of federal as well as the provincial governments, the private parties are considering to import the most sought-after vegetable from different countries including China, India and Bangladesh. India is all set to impose a ban on the import of cosmetics that have been tested on animals citing the “cruelty” involved in the process of testing the cosmectics on animals. The Union health ministry has framed draft rules to amend the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 to impose the ban. A new clause, 135-B, will be inserted into Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 to enable the government impose the ban. During animal testing for cosmetics, harmful chemicals are dripped into their eyes, placed on their skin and at times even forced down their throats. After the amendment, any cosmetic products tested on animals will face action as per the provisions of both, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the Animal Cruelty Act. Violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act involves three to 10 years of imprisonment or a fine of Rs 500 to Rs 10,000 or both. Australia, one of the world's largest exporters of woodchips, appears to have recovered from a 10-year low in 2012 as shipments rose again last year. In the first quarter of this year, exports were close to the highest since 2010. When Australian exports fell, it was replaced by Vietnam as the largest supplier of woodchips in the world. Exports of eucalyptus chips peaked at 5 million tonnes in 2008, dropping to around 3.3 million tonnes in 2012. This is the lowest export volume since 2000 and can be attributed to the diminishing demand for chips in Japan. The recovery of Australia's export figures is due to a high demand for wood fibre coming from China and over the past six months, woodchip exports have grown once again. The end of last year and beginning of this saw the highest quarterly shipments since 2010. The European countries can import Iran's natural gas through three separate routes, a senior energy official said. "Iran can export natural gas to Europe through three different ways, including via the Turkish pipeline which is considered the most cost-effective route under the current circumstances," Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Ali Majedi told FNA on Tuesday. He underlined that export of Iran's gas to Europe will be a win-win deal as Europe has been looking for various gas resources and production of gas from the new phases of Iran's South Pars gas field will begin soon. "The second route is a pipeline which passes through Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and (finally) the Mediterranean Sea," Majedi said, adding, "The third route is an undersea route passing beneath the Mediterranean Sea."
